Privacy policy

This website, currentlyrated.com (the “Site”), is operated by Agile Tech, UAB, a private limited company registered in Lithuania (company code 304691080, VAT ID LT100011207013), of Ukmergės g. 364-49, LT-14188 Vilnius, Lithuania (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at hello@currentlyrated.com.

The Site is a free online resource offering reviews and comparisons of consumer products. You do not need an account to use it, and we do not sell anything on the Site, process payments, or collect any registration data. The personal data we process is limited to what is described below.

1.What data we process, and why

Advertising click identifiers. If you come to the Site from an advertisement, the page address can contain a click identifier created by the advertising platform (“gclid” for Google Ads, “msclkid” for Microsoft Advertising). The Site adds this identifier to its links to other pages of the Site and to our online shop, so that a purchase can be matched to the advertisement (see Section 3). The Site itself sends nothing to Google or Microsoft. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing which of our advertisements lead to a purchase (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Server and content-delivery logs. As with almost every website, our hosting and content-delivery infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, including Amazon CloudFront) records technical log entries when pages are requested: your IP address, browser information, the page requested (including any advertising click identifiers such as “gclid” or “msclkid” contained in the address), the page you came from, and the time. We use these logs to operate and secure the Site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running and securing the Site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our web server’s logs are deleted after about ten weeks at most. The content-delivery logs are stored separately, with Amazon Web Services in Stockholm, Sweden.

Your country. Amazon CloudFront works out from your IP address which country you are in and passes the country code to our web server. We use it to show information for your country, such as prices and delivery, on the page you requested, and we do not store it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in showing information that is correct for your country (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Email you send us. If you contact us at the address above, we process your email address, name and the content of your message in order to reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the matter.

We do not use the data above to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell personal data.

2.Cookies and online advertising

The Site sets no cookies and uses no similar technologies, such as local storage or session storage: nothing is stored on your device. That is why there is no cookie notice to accept or decline.

The Site loads no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking tags, and no pixels, social media plugins, embedded videos, fonts or pictures from other websites: every file a page loads comes from www.currentlyrated.com. The small scripts on our pages run only in your browser to make the page work, for example to close the language menu when you click elsewhere, or to reorder the guides on the homepage. They store nothing and send nothing.

If we ever add advertising or analytics tools that use cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy before they go live and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

3.Who receives data

Personal data is processed on our behalf by the following provider:

The buttons on our review pages lead to the checkout at www.techfibrr.com, the online shop that we also operate. The shop’s own privacy policy (www.techfibrr.com/privacy-policy/) applies there. The link carries only the product, the page language, two fixed markers showing that you came from the Site and, if you arrived through an advertisement, the click identifier described in Section 1.

Some entries in our guides link to product pages on Amazon, which open in a new tab. These links carry no click identifier, marker or tag, and Amazon’s own privacy policy applies there. Whenever you follow a link to another website, your browser tells that website only that you came from www.currentlyrated.com, never the address of the page you were reading.

4.International transfers

Our web server runs in the European Union, in Paris, France, and the content-delivery logs are kept in Stockholm, Sweden. Amazon CloudFront answers requests from locations around the world, so if you visit from outside the European Economic Area, a location near you handles your request. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. For transfers from the United Kingdom, a UK adequacy regulation or the UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses applies.

5.How long we keep data

The Site sets no cookies, so nothing is kept on your device. Our web server’s logs are deleted after about ten weeks at most. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

6.Your rights

Under the GDPR (and the UK GDPR if you are in the United Kingdom) you have the right to ask us for access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Lithuania, the State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI); in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office; or the authority of the country where you live.

7.Age

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8.Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add advertising partners or change providers. The current version is always available on this page. If a change is significant, we will flag it prominently on the Site.
